Susie Long Hospice Fund appeals for
Dublin & Kilkenny Carer’s Association Mini-Marathon participants
 
Calling all enthusiastic sporty and non-sporty types!

The Susie Long Hospice Fund is appealing to everyone – athletes and non-athletes – to consider taking part in the Dublin Women’s Mini-Marathon or the Carer’s Association Mini-Marathon in Kilkenny in aid of the fund.

All entrants who take part in aid of the Susie Long Hospice Fund will receive a complimentary sponsorship pack to assist their fundraising efforts. Further information from the Susie Long Hospice Fund Fundraising Co-ordinator on (087) 2070737
 
How to Apply
Participants in both events must register with the events first, before contacting the Susie Long Hospice Fund for a sponsorship pack.
 
Dublin Women's Mini-Marathon

The Dublin Mini-Marathon takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 7th June.

Registration is currently open but will close on 23rd April, so there’s no time to lose! Entry forms are available from (01) 2930984 or online at www.womensminimarathon.ie.

Carer’s Association Kilkenny Mini-Marathon

The Carer’s Association Mini-Marathon in Kilkenny takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May.

Entry forms are available from the Carer’s Association offices at Priors Orchard, John’s Quay, Kilkenny, tel (056) 7721424, or email carerskilkenny@carersireland.com or see www.carersireland.com

Proceeds from entry fees for the Kilkenny Mini-Marathon go to the Carer’s Association, but participants can then seek sponsorship in aid of a charity of their choice. And an important point to note: the Kilkenny Mini-Marathon is open to all, not just women!

Speaking during a light training session at The Watershed in Kilkenny, Sonya Lanigan, Chairperson of the Susie Long Hospice Fund Committee said

“Susie Long was a great campaigner and a great woman. We’re calling on everyone in Kilkenny to come out and play their part to help us raise funds to build a hospice for the people of Kilkenny and Carlow. You don’t have to be a super athlete to take part in either of the mini-marathons. Lots of people walk it with groups of friends and it’s a great day out. Once you enter the mini-marathon, either in Dublin or Kilkenny, then get in touch with us and we’ll send you a sponsorship pack to get you started. The sponsorship raised will help us reach our target of €2 million”.
